Boundless (Part Two)

When will we learn to utilize the boundless gifts given us by our Lord?

Boundless (Part Two)

John 3: 34 – For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God – proclaims God’s message – God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit!  (Amplified Bible)

What are you speaking?  What are the words that are flowing forth out of your mouth?  Are they in agreement with what the Lord has set forth in His Word?  Do they always edify and minister grace to those who hear them?  Are the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart that which carries forth the truth of the Gospel which the Lord has declared to be preached to every creature?  If your answer to these questions give clear indication that God’s Word, that which is in agreement with that Word, carriers of the truth of the Gospel, are flowing forth from you, give God praise and don’t stop; don’t ever stop.  Instead, double down and do it even more.  But if one’s responses do not meet these criteria, one should strongly consider their position in light of the Word, and in light of whether they are experiencing the boundlessness of the gift of Holy Spirit in their life.

Look closely once again at our Text for Today.  What is the requirement set forth in this passage for having the boundlessness of Holy Spirit manifest in one’s life?  It is clearly stated in the opening phrase – “For since He Whom God has sent speaks the Words of God.”  In this passage, at the moment it was spoken, it was clearly referring to the Lord Jesus Christ, and He certainly NEVER spoke anything that was in any manner or degree in conflict with God’s Word.  But now, in the time of the New Covenant, the covenant that came into effect on the day of Pentecost when the church was birthed, we must consider these words on an ever-widening horizon.  For Jesus said that as Father had sent Him, so He has sent us.  If I send someone to do business for me in my name, I must equip him with the same tools and authority I have at my disposal for performance of the task at hand.  That is precisely what Jesus has done for us.  The same power He has, He has given to us.  The same Holy Spirit Who empowered Him now empowers us.  You have not received a “little bit” of Holy Spirit.  You have received of His fullness.  Truly the gift God has made of His Spirit is boundless.  It is not by measure or sparingly.  Now it becomes our responsibility to walk before the Lord in such a manner that He can freely manifest through us that same boundlessness that was manifest through Jesus Himself.

Manna for Today – John 3:22-36; Luke 11:13; Mark 11:22-24; John 14:12-14; John 15:7; John 16:23; Ephesians 4:29; John 17
