Why Do You Wait?

At an intersection, if the light is green, you don’t wait; you go.  Your light is green.

_______________

John 20:21 – Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

______________

Read closely and breathe in deeply these words from the lips of the Messiah Himself, “as Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”  If you have ever studied English grammar, then you should remember that a simile is a comparison using “like” or “as.”  Jesus’ statement and command is one of similitude.  So, first we need to consider HOW Father sent Jesus.  Read Luke 4:14-19.  Father anointed Jesus, and Holy Ghost came on Him because of that anointing to empower Jesus to preach, heal, and deliver.  Do you see it?  Because God HAD anointed Jesus, Holy Ghost came upon Him.  Holy Ghost comes to manifest Himself where the anointing is yielded to Him.

Do you sit today, waiting for Holy Ghost to move you?  Read our Text for Today once again.  How have you been sent?  As Jesus was sent, now you have been sent.  Once Jesus was sent, He did not wait for Holy Ghost to move Him.  because Jesus obeyed the Father, Holy Spirit was always there to move “with” Jesus, confirming His Word and empowering Jesus.  Now you are anointed, and being anointed, Holy Spirit will seek out that anointing that is upon your life, and there, when you voice His Word in faith, Holy Ghost will manifest Himself and confirm the Word.

So, stop sitting there.  Jesus has sent you to do what He did, and even greater.  It’s time to get up and get busy.  What is the Word of God commanding you to do?  don’t expect to be used by God in a great measure until you have shown yourself faithful in the smaller matters.  You have been sent just like Jesus was sent.  You have been given the same authority He had.  You have His Name and His Covenant backing you up in keeping His Commandments.  You have Holy Ghost as your Teacher, Helper, Guide, and Comforter.  You have been “inspired,” or “God in-breathed,” authorized, and empowered to carry out your role as a member of the body of Christ in the earth.  Why are you still sitting there?  Arise!  Go!  Obey the Lord!  The lost are waiting to be found, and you are the light of the world.  Why do you wait?
