If God Said It…..

If God said it shall come to pass, then it SHALL COME TO PASS.

Acts 2:17 – And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:

Our Text for Today is one of the most powerful PROMISE PASSAGES in the Scriptures.  Let’s break it down for some examination today.  First, see the phrase, “it shall come to pass.”  In the English language, there are no greater nor more powerful words of affirmation for establishing an absolute than the words “shall” or “will.”  When we read or hear the words “it shall come to pass,” that eliminates all other possibilities.  That declaration is a statement of fixed intent about which nothing can be done to prevent it.  I fully realize that man can make that statement, and many things may hinder or prevent it from being carried out.  After all, man if fallible, limited, and on his own, incapable of the supernatural empowerment necessary to back up such a declaration.

And when shall it come to pass?  “…in the last days.”  Following such a declaration, a statement of the time in which it shall happen also becomes a fixed matter towards accomplishment.  “…in the last days” means exactly what it says, and from it, because “it shall come to pass,” there can be no turning.

Next. we examine WHO said it.  In this case, it was not a man, an angel or demon, or even someone called to the work of the ministry.  It was spoken by God Himself.  If God said it, that settles it.  It is eternally fixed, unchangeable, unalterable.  The Word of God is absolute truth and is settled forever in heaven.  God is upholding all things by the Word of His power.  The Word of God will NEVER fail.

And the final phrase, and oh how powerful it is.  “I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh.”  Read it again.  “I” – God Himself will do this thing.  “WILL” – it is an action fixed to happen; it cannot be voided.  “POUR OUT” – not a trickle, not a stream, not a river, but rivers; a flood; a dynamic that is massive, in great volume, immeasurable.  “OF MY SPIRIT” – this is personal with God.  This is His Spirit; Holy Ghost; Inspirer of the Word; Agent of the new birth; the glory of God.  “UPON ALL FLESH” – this is NOT to the Jew only.  This is to ALL men; to whosoever will; to every child of God; to all who will ask.

My friend, this is rejoicing territory.  It really can’t get any better as it regards promises from Father.  The promise has been made.  It is fixed and settled forever.  All you need to do is believe, ask, and receive.  Go ahead, and make this a marvelously great day!
