The Name of Jesus – Part Two

Acts 3:16 – And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

Let’s continue to consider the might Name of Jesus.  In the Old Testament He was promised to come.  In the four Gospels He came.  In Acts He returned to the Father.  In the Epistles He revealed how He can live through us.  In Revelation He is coming again.  He is the perfect outshining of the Father, of our God Who is love.

He is the breadth of God’s love – offering security in walking and limitless balance.  He is the length of God’s love – as long and unending as is the distance He has cast our sins from us, from the east to the west.  He is the depth of God’s love – indicative of darkness, not to the point of concealment, but beyond the realm of human understanding, except it be revealed by Him because He IS love.  He is the height of God’s love – soaring into the picturesque elevations that leave the natural mind spinning in the dizziness of the eternal.  And there is yet so much more.  Every book in the Bible is a clear revelation of Who Jesus is – of His Name that is above every name.

In Genesis he is the Creative Word of God from the mouth of Father.  In Exodus He is the Passover Lamb.  In Leviticus He is the Scapegoat and our High Priest.  In Numbers He is the Holy Rod of Aaron, the cloud by day and the fire by night.  In Deuteronomy He is the Rock of Salvation.  In Joshua He is a hornet and Captain of our salvation.  In Judges He is the lamp of Gideon.  In Ruth He is the Kinsman Redeemer.  In 1 Samuel He is the anointing oil and in 2 Samuel a light unto David.  In 1 Kings He is a still small voice and in 2 Kings the mantle of Elijah.  In 1 Chronicles He is the sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees and in 2 Chronicles a consuming fire.  In Ezra He is the temple rebuilt.  In Nehemiah He is the walls of Jerusalem rebuilt.  In Esther He is the golden scepter, and in Job my hedge.  In Psalms He is my Shepherd, and in Proverbs the crown jewels of wisdom from the throne room of glory.  In Ecclesiastes He is the Preacher.  In the Song of Solomon He is the Bridegroom.  In Isaiah He is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.  In Jeremiah He is the potter that molds the clay; the righteous branch.  In Lamentations He is the Compassionate Judge, and in Ezekiel He was the noise of many waters.  In Daniel He was the fourth man.  Oh, how good to know the Name of Jesus.
