The Name of Jesus – Part Three

At His Name, every knee shall bow….every knee of every being.  Oh, the glory!

Acts 3:16 – And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

The songwriter penned the words, “Jesus, Jesus, there’s just something about that Name.”  Oh, how true those words.  Let us continue.  In Hosea He is the husband of an unfaithful wife.  In Joel He is the Holy Ghost baptizer, the hope of His people.  In Amos He is a plumbline, and in Obadiah He is the fire in the house of Jacob.  In Jonah He is a great fish and life to a condemned people.  In Micah He is the ruler in Israel whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting, and in Nahum He is our stronghold in the day of trouble.  In Habakkuk He is a vision that will not tarry, and in Zephaniah He is a consuming job.  In Haggai He is the desire of all nations.  In Zechariah He is the fountain opened for sins, and in Malachi He is the messenger of the Covenant, the sun of righteousness rising with healing in His wings.

Then we come to the Gospels.  In Matthew He is the head corner stone.  In Mark He is the miracle worker, the Son of the Blessed, the Holy One of God.  In Luke He is the Son of the Highest, our Savior, and our Lord.  And in John He is the Word that was in the beginning, the water of life, the bread of life, the way, the truth, and the life, the door of the sheep, and the true vine.

In Acts He is Pentecost and Lord of all.  In Romans He is the intercessor, the stumbling stone, and the rock of offense.  In 1 Corinthians He is the gifts of the Spirit, and in 2 Corinthians He is the promises of God, in Him, yea, and in Him, Amen.  In Galatians He is the fruit of the spirit and our redemption from the curse of the law.  In Ephesians He is the whole armor of God, and in Philippians He is the source of and supplier of all anointing strength and need.  In Colossians He is the head of the body.  In 1 & 2 Thessalonians He is our soon coming King.  In 1 Timothy He is the eternal King and only Potentate and in 2 Timothy He is the seed of David raised from the dead.  In Titus He is our blessed hope, and in Philemon our emancipator.  In Hebrews He is our brother, the apostle of our profession, our high priest, our mediator, and the author and finisher of our faith.  In James He is the Lord of glory.  And glorious Lord He truly is.  His Name is Jesus.
