I am always honored when the Lord confirms His Word to me personally and expands my testimony.
Mark 6:34 – And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

In today’s Second Miler, I want to share a personal testimony with you; one that happened to me personally during my pastoral years. I pastored New Life Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina from July 6, 1986 to July 6, 2014. I was deeply honored to pastor such a wonderful group of God’s children. In the year 2000, I faced some physical struggles that I believe came on me through the cares of the church as Satan worked to bring our church down. My vision for our church and ministry had almost been stolen from me as it seemed Satan tried to crush it in my spirit. I can report before I share this testimony that the Lord not only restored that vision, but healed my body so powerfully. This is the testimony of only one of those manifestations of healing.
I had begun to have a real problem with hemorrhoids. It seemed that all the problems inherent with them were being manifest, especially the severe pain. This went on for a period of some 13 weeks. It had gotten so bad that I was actually beginning to dread getting up in the morning, for it was daily battle with pain. There were times, both at home and at my office that I would lay in the floor with my feet elevated, hurting so badly that I would weep at times. Even then, I held to my faith for a complete manifestation of the healing I knew my Lord had purchased for me. I would come to the throne of grace boldly, thanking the Lord for my healing, and daily His great mercy would be manifest as the pain would leave me and I could do all I needed to do. Once again, this went on daily for 13 weeks. Day after day His mercy prevailed for me. Daily during that time, I kept the Word before my eyes; reading, studying, meditating, confessing, and thanking Him for my healing. As I stayed in the Word, holding fast to my profession, His compassion played out so powerfully in my body, and I was able to stand and minister under the super-natural presence of the Lord in every service and meeting. Then one evening on the way home from my office, grace came to the forefront. I know it was the Lord that told me precisely what to do. It seemed so simple, but I did it immediately, and within two days, the entire issue was gone. I was healed, according to 1 Peter 2:24, all along. But on that day came to complete manifestation. I had found the grace I needed to completely walk free. Mercy, compassion, and grace had come through in all their fullness, glory to God!
