Ephesians 3:20 – Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
I have been called an extremist because of my stand for a life of faith in Jesus, because I believe the Bible, because I believe in my God Who cannot fail, because I believe I can do what God says I can do, that I can have what God says I can have, and that I am who He says I am. If you believe the same things, you’ve been labeled as an extremist, too, whether you know it or not.
But as extreme as the world and religious people may think us, they really have no idea of Who God is. Our God is an extreme God. Consider some of the extremes to which He has gone. He created the world and then gave all of that creation over to the authority of His man. And when that man miserably failed Him, He provided His only begotten Son for the full redemption of that fallen man. And then, He gave all the authority to do the work of the kingdom back to man. And surprise, mankind, even the best of us, continue to miss the mark. Yet, Father loves us, keeps us, protects us, provides for us, and plans eternity with us. That is an extreme God.
His love for us is unfailing, despite our shortfalls in life. Regardless of how a man lives in this present day, if he will confess Jesus as Lord, and believe in his heart that God has raised Him from the dead, that man will be saved and have eternal life. That is an extreme God. He sent His Son, Jesus, to bear our sins, sickness, lack, and torments. He was wounded for our transgression, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we were healed. Jesus bore it all so we could have complete life in Him. That is an extreme God.
Look closely at our Text for Today. See this wonderful expression of our extreme God. He is able to do exceeding (that’s more than we can ask or think), abundantly (that’s a lot more than more) above (that’s even more than a lot more than more) ALL WE ASK OR THINK, according to the power (dunamis – Word) that is at work in us. That is an extreme God. If you are planning on moving with God in this hour, you’ll have to be an extreme thinker, extreme believer, extreme doer, and extreme witness of our extreme God.
