Ephesians 3:18 – May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
How many songs do we sing about the love of God in which we hear words that say we can’t know or fathom His great love for us? Too many, and sadly, songs that convey that message are Biblically inaccurate. Read our Text for Today. It is the Word of God, and it clearly states that God wants to bring us to a place where we can “comprehend . . . the breadth, and length, and depth, and height” of God’s love. God’s love is there for the knowing, for the full comprehension. But too many of Father’s children stop short of the mark, refusing, either by choice or by ignorance, to add to their life the layers of growth in the Lord about which we are talking.
Allow me to offer some questions for thought. When you were in school, did you come to a place of comprehending that 2+2=4? Did you come to comprehend that 15×15=225? Which did you comprehend first? Obviously, you comprehended addition before you did multiplication. That’s because you were taught in layers. And because you were subjected, by your choice or not, to those layers of constant instruction, you ultimately comprehended multiplication, possibly even deep into the multiplication tables. When you, by choice, apply that same principle to what we’ve been studying in Ephesians 3:14-21, you can attain to the level of comprehension we discuss today. It’s there for you, if only you will give diligence to add each layer to your life, allowing Holy Spirit to direct you through it.
Think of this. How much more healing would we see if those who need healing would attain to the level of comprehension of God’s love we are examining here? How much more deliverance would be wrought? How must more freedom from debt would we see? How much greater would be the manifestations of power among God’s people if they truly comprehended the breadth, length, depth, and height of God’s love, knowing it fully? Once again, think of that as you read these words and meditate upon Father’s Word.
The Amplified Bible says that “God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only-begotten unique Son, so that whoever believes in, trusts, clings to, and relies on Him shall not perish, come to destruction, or be lost, but have eternal, everlasting life.” I have come to a place in my walk with Jesus that I cannot imagine our Heavenly Father paying such an awesome price for my redemption, only to keep hidden from the depths of His great love, allowing me to enjoy on a portion of it, and by that, limit me to only certain pieces of such great blessing in my life. No, my friend. Father wants you to know, to fully comprehend the fulness of His great love for you. Grow up into that.
