Provoking Praise – Part 4

It is an act of the will.  It does not originate in the emotions.

Psalm 139:14 – I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us be glad in it and rejoice together.  You know? That sounds like a great idea.  It should.  The Lord commanded it.  And come to think of it, I’ve never known the Lord to have a bad idea, or even just a so-so one.  Any thought that comes from our heavenly Father is by default a heavenly idea, for it comes from our Father Who is Himself, heavenly.  Praising God is a God-idea, a God-concept, a God-thought.  To that end, I will deliberately choose to make a time in my day to praise my God.  If something else must be left undone until a later time, I will make time to praise my God.  Even if something must be left undone completely, I will make time to praise my God.  In short, I WILL PRAISE MY GOD!

And from our Text for Today, we observe one of the multitude of reasons to praise Him.  “I will praise (my GodTheefor (becauseI am fearfully and wonderfully made (to be revered and distinguished); marvelous (to be marveled atare Thy worksand that my soul knoweth right well (I am fully convinced).”  If you can’t think of anything else about which you should praise your heavenly Father, our Text for Today is all the reason you need.  When you arise in the morning and see your reflection in the mirror, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished.  When you gaze upon the extremities of your body, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished.  When you enjoy a meal, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished.  When you have opportunity for fellowship with a fellow Christian, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished.  When you pay your bills on time, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished.  When you enjoy the presence of your family, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished.  When you can testify of His goodness in your life, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished.  When you are able to minister to others as His ambassador, praise Him for making you to be revered and distinguished

I could continue on for pages, for great is His faithfulness to me and my family and home.  Just to know that He loves me is all I need to provoke me to praise Him for making me to be revered and distinguished.  He is my God, I am His child and heir, He meets ALL my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, SO, I WILL PRAISE HIM!
