Seasons – Part 11

We need to be prepared for the coming season.

Genesis 8:22 – While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Regardless of the season in which you now abide, you need to be prepared for the one that is coming.  If you’re in summer, you need to be ready for harvest.  If you’re in winter, you need to be prepared for spring.  Whatever your present season, regardless of the arena of life, the next season is coming.  The wise man will be prepared for it.  Let’s consider necessary preparation.

If you’re in a winter season, things are tough.  It could be symptoms in your body, financial pressure, or intense emotional stress.  You already know that spring is coming.  Part of the work of each season, along with doing the work of the season, is preparing for the coming season so you do not enter it ill-prepared.  Entering a season, ill-prepared, even if it is a pleasant season, leaves you unprepared to work in it as you should.  When that happens, things just seem to get worse.  If I am in a harvest season, a time of reaping a great harvest from seed sown and work done well, I know that winter is coming.  I don’t know how long the season may be, but I do trust the Lord to see to it that my harvest is bountiful enough to see me through it abundantly, for that is how He works.  Regardless of my current season, or the one to follow, I know that Philippians 4:19 is still part of my covenant, and that Matthew 6:33 still works.  God’s Word is absolutely true.  He will never fail us.  The season you face does not control you, but by faith you can to well in any season.

You are probably quite aware of the season in which you currently stand.  You know what is expected of you in that season.  Doing what you know needs to be done in this season requires faith.  Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.  Knowing your present season, you are aware of what is coming next, and what you presently need to do to be prepared for it.  Doing what is necessary to be prepared for the coming season requires faith.  Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.  That is the pattern that exists in every season.  To know what to do, and not do it is sin.  You know that, too.  Today, my heart’s desire is that you may recognize whatever season it is in which you are now, and with that, see by Holy Spirit how to use your faith to live in that season at the highest possible level of victory, and prepare yourself for the season to come, and live there the same way, season to season.  Keep yourself in the Word, my friend, and in the love of God.
