1 Peter 5:6-7 – Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Our heavenly Father knew you from before the foundation of the world. In His mind, you have always been destined for promotion. Then, from the moment of your conception, when the DNA from the sperm of your father and the egg of your mother united, and Father God placed a spirit in that union, you were destined for promotion. From the first cellular division of your making, you began moving towards that destiny. At that point, you had no voice in the outcome. Others, however, did; parents, grandparents, family, and even outsiders spoke words that helped to frame the world around you. Regardless of the words they spoke, good or bad, right or wrong, you were still destined by your Creator for promotion. Oh, that those who framed our daily world in those earliest stages had known the power of their words and actions.
But if you are reading this, that responsibility to live for and move towards promotion falls into your arena of faith. And the bottom line is this. As you exercise your faith in living for and moving towards promotion, Father is already there, awaiting your arrival at each marker of your journey, to promote you onward and upward in His kingdom, for His glory, to edify the Church, build the kingdom, and bless you beyond measure. So, the question becomes, are you preparing yourself in a Biblical manner for the promotion Father intends for you?
Certain elements of preparation are the same for everyone in the body of Christ. Feast daily on the Word, study to show yourself approved to Father, meditate upon the Word, rightly divide the Word, hold fast to the Word, obey the Word, and speak the Word into every situation of life you encounter. Pray, and that without ceasing, in everything giving thanks, for that is God’s will for you. Pray in the Spirit, building yourself up on your most holy faith, so you can stand strong in the Lord, and be sure you have put on the whole armor of God so you can withstand in the evil day. When the Lord directs, fast according to His Word to supercharge your spirit man for the work before you. Tithe and give as the Lord instructs, thus opening pathways for the blessings of God to overtake and overflow your life. Live by faith, for without faith you cannot please Father. Walk in love, for faith works by love, and that love is manifest in keeping His commandments. While these, and other elements, too, are common ground for all believers, there are some things that will be different for each of us. As we move forward, we will consider some examples in that arena.
