1 Peter 5:6-7 – Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
With the value God has placed on you. and considering the talents, anointings, and giftings He has placed in you, don’t you think you should give yourself to the task of learning to use what He has given you at the highest level of performance you can? I’m not talking about seeking personal gain. If you give yourself fully to pleasing Father, you will never lack for anything. The Lord is your Shepherd, and you shall not lack any good thing. Furthermore, your God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Nor am I talking about fame or natural notoriety. Far more important than being known as an earthly celebrity is to be recognized in heaven as one of God’s chosen vessels, sanctified and meet for the Master’s use, as well as being known in hell as Apostle Paul was. Do you remember the incident in Acts when the seven sons of Sceva tried to cast out a devil by adjuring the demon in the name of Jesus that Paul preached? The demons in the man said to them, “Jesus we know (intimately from first-hand encounters), and Paul we know (by his reputation from reports of other demons that have encountered him),” but to the sons of Sceva the demons said, “but who are you?”
Every believer should clearly understand that Father wants you to be intimately known in heaven, and that your reputation is the only element of your life that will ever go to hell. In this present life, the Scriptures tell us that we are compassed about by a great cloud of witnesses. Could it be that heaven and the angels of the Lord on looking on at your life, cheering you on to victory in Jesus, being excited by your witness and ministry as a champion for God? Is it possible that every victory you gain in this life earns you rewards in the world to come? Is that worth your personal investment to prepare yourself for promotion that comes from Father. Those talents, anointings, and giftings the Lord has placed in your life are for use. Are you hiding them in the folds of your life, or are you investing them for the glory of God that they produce a great return on investment for the Lord? When you prepare yourself by studying, learning from your spiritual fathers and teachers, and applying yourself in what you have learned, Father is pleased, and when Father is pleased, your life is more abundantly blessed. It’s your choice in life. You can choose to prepare for promotion, and being prepared, be available when the Lord needs you, or you can choose to not prepare, and in that condition, miss divine appointments the Lord has set for you, and by that, miss the rewards.
