You Talking to Me? – Part 35

Every time I consider Mark 11:22-24, I have a “You talking to me?” moment.

Again today I come to Mark 11:22-24.  Have faith in God.  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  As I’ve already written, the first time I heard that passage with its full import presented to me, I had a very strong “You talking to me?” moment.

Since then, every time I read it, it happens again.  This is one of most powerful command passages of Scripture in the Bible.  Sadly, it seems that far too many people take this passage as a suggestion, or a dream estate  to which one may come if they live long enough and are holy enough.  That kind of thinking needs to be eradicated from the body of Christ.  Mark 11:22-24 is not a suggestion, nor is it an estate to which only a few great saints may attain.  It is, in fact, a commandment from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  And, YES, it is talking to you and me.

When you were born again, you received “the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3).  That was the seed of faith planted in your spirit.  What have you done with it?  Have you hidden it for what you think is safe-keeping?  Did you allow it to grow in your life?  Have you consistently fed it on the Word of God by which faith comes?  Have you taken consistent time to pray in the spirit, building up yourself on your most holy faith? (Jude 20)   Do you believe the Word of God?  Have you made the determination to be a wise child of God, not only hearing the Word, but being a doer of the Word (Matthew 7:24-27)?  My dear friend, the Word of God is true; absolutely true.  It will never change.  It is settled forever in heaven.  Heaven and earth will pass away, but God’s Word will never pass away.  God cannot lie.  He has spoken.  What are you going to do with that?  I’ve made the decision to believe Him, obey Him, and trust Him to fulfill His Word in my life every time I use it.  In reality, that is the only choice I have.  Anything less would be failure.  I hate failure.  I love to win,  But, most of all, I love pleasing Father.  And the greatest thing I can do to please Him is to live by His faith, regardless of how loud the thought, “You talking to me?” speaks to my mind.
