Get Your Fight Back – Part 2

You face spiritual warfare.  Engage it or be ravaged by it.

1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

If you want to get your fight back, it must be first things first.  That begins with getting into battle condition.  What we’re talking about is bringing the spirit man’s level of strength and endurance to a much higher level.  Of course, we are supplied with the whole armor of God which is absolutely necessary for spiritual warfare.  But we’re not talking about conditioning one’s armor.  We’re talking about bringing your spirit-man to peak condition.  That begins with diet.  What are you feeding your spirit-man?  Are you feeding your spirit junk food or low-fat, spiritual protein to develop spiritual muscle?  If your itching ears are being gently tickled, if your sweet tooth is being satiated, you’re getting junk food.  Strong spiritual food is a must for strong spiritual development.  The strong spiritual food you need is found in God’s Word.  There are many substitutes that can be found, and some are very well-packaged, appearing to really be good for you.  You must read the labels, and that can only be done accurately when you are knowledgeable of the Word of God.

The Word of God will be your spiritual milk for growth and the development of strong spiritual bones, or structure in your life.  Keep in mind that strong bones mean a strong feet on which to stand, strong knees on which to bend before your God, strong back to help you stand upright, and strong shoulders to carry what you must.  Strong meat belongs to those who are full age, who by use have their senses exercised to discern between good and evil.  The meat of God’s Word is required to grow spiritual muscle, that is faith in God and His Word.  And keep in mind that while man does not live by bread alone, bread (or good grain) is needful to a healthy diet.

And let us not forget the need to keep the body properly hydrated for it to be strong and enduring.  To that end we have, once again, the Word of God, or as it is often called, the Water of Life.  And it was here that Jesus said we can drink of this water freely.  It is so necessary that through salvation, you have placed in your spirit man a well of living water from which you may draw at any time.  Just be sure to keep the well cleaned out and the water source to it flowing freely.

The menu is before you; Water of Life, milk of the Word, Bread of Life, Meat of the Word.  With all that on the menu, I have but one more thing to say on that.  As Jesus has said, “Come and dine.”
