I Have a Friend – 13

There is much more to be discovered about the anointing.

He Inspires Me

Text for Today – Proverbs 18:24 – A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

In a world that appears to be satiated by every possible plan, type, and even schemes of motivation, oh, to be inspired.  I am not saying that motivation is evil, or even not good for you. There have been many times in my life when, had it not been for motivation in some form, I could have, and in some cases, probably would have given up, failed, or stopped short of success.  I thank God for motivation, and especially for those people who have been a source of motivation in my life.

But I have found that motivation is, at best, temporary.  Even when motivation has helped me to cross the finish line in victory, once that race was over, so was the motivation for that particular race.  Still, I am thankful for the right motivation I have received in my life.  but as I have discovered that motivation is temporary, I have found something even better than motivation, and that something is by no means temporary.  It is eternal.  It is called inspiration.  You see, motivation may push me forward at a time when it seems my strength is waning.  But inspiration breathes life into me that enables me to push myself.  Inspiration enlarges the reason to move on or upward, allowing the vision Father has placed in my heart to grow and expand to a scale that far surpasses anything my own imagination could conceive.  It is by the work of inspiration into our lives that we come to understand the truth of Father’s word in Ephesians where He declares He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that is at work within us.  And that power of Ephesians 3:20 is the Greek word dunamis, and it is the same word used in Romans 1:16 speaking of the “gospel of Christ” which is “the power of God unto salvation.”

I am so thankful for the inspiration that He continually ;pours into my life.  When I am reading, studying, and meditating in the Word of God, He inspires me.  When I am talking to Him in all manner of prayer, He inspires me.  When I’m talking to others about Him, His character, His Word, His majesty, and His power, He inspires me.  When I lift my voice in thanksgiving, praise, and worship, He inspires me.  Even when I sleep, there are nights when He speaks to me in a dream, what some call night visions, and there He inspires me.  I first experienced His inspiration when I was born again, June 17, 1959.  Since that day, I have reveled in those precious times when He has breathed into my spirit man again and again.  Oh, how I love Him for His inspiration.
