I Have a Friend – 15

Having a friend whose prayers for you are consistent, and always answered, is marvelous..

He Prays for Me

Text for Today – Proverbs 18:24 – A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Jesus never prayed a prayer that was not answered, for He never prayed a prayer that was not the perfect will of His Father.  And knowing that He is Lord, and that He is seated on the right hand of the Father gives me reason to stand, regardless of circumstances with my full faith and confidence in Him to exercise His full authority of Lordship over me in love.  Now, knowing the truth of God’s Word, consider the following.

When Jesus came to the earth for His first advent, He came to seek and to save that which was lost.  Upon His return to be seated on Father’s right hand, He gave the responsibility for carrying that ministry to the next level, that being “going into all the world,” to the Church, His body.  From that moment in time when Jesus sat down on Father’s right hand, He entered into what remains His current ministry work, and that is one of intercession.  Hebrews 7:25 makes that very clear.  It says He ever lives to make intercession for them (those who come to the Father by Him).  Think of that.  Our greatest Friend, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who never sleeps or slumbers, is seated in that greatest place of power in existence, holding rule over all power in heaven and earth, and He is seated there interceding for us, His body, at all times, in every circumstance, regardless of the obstacle we may face.  When you’re facing your darkest hour, He’s interceding for you.  When you are at your greatest crossroads of life, He’s interceding for you.  When you facing the greatest deception man has ever encountered, He’s interceding for you.  When the odds against you are at their maximum, He’s interceding for you.  When your greatest opportunity of life presents itself before you, He’s interceding for you.  And in all His intercession, being the perfect will of Father for us, is designed to fulfill His Word regarding what He has made us to be.

His intercession is to give us victory and full success as the righteousness of God, joint-heirs of God, ambassadors of Christ, kings and priests.  His intercession for us is always to make manifest in our lives the Word of God from 1 John 4:17 where we read, “as He is, so are we in this world.”  Oh, my dear fellow laborer in Christ, read this, believe this, receive this, and rejoice in this.  Our Friend, Jesus, the King of Glory, wants us to live our lives here in the earth as if we were already in heaven.  In His pattern of prayer He gave us, He prayed, “Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.”  I have a Friend, and He prays for me.
