I Have a Friend – 14

Can you imagine our great Lord trusting you with power such as His Own?

He Empowers Me

Text for Today – Proverbs 18:24 – A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

It is a promise of the Father and of the Son.  It is the complete desire of our God that every child of God be filled with Holy Spirit and thereby, be made a recipient of the power of God that can only be known through Holy Spirit.  And there is supernatural empowerment that belongs to the child of God in additional ways.  We have been given the Word of God that is the power of God unto salvation.  And His Word is that power that works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure.  He has given us “the measure of faith,” and that measure is the same measure Father used to raise Jesus from the dead.  And there is one another point that needs to made here.  He has given us His Name, the Name of Jesus, that if we will believe on that Name, when we use it, we have the God-given privilege and responsibility to use the Name of Jesus to invoke the full power of heaven now in this life.

I cannot begin to relate to you the joy and excitement in my spirit when, having learned the elements of power, and how they came to be mine, I discovered the words of Jesus in John 14:12-14.  There, Jesus said that if we believed on Him, that we would do the same works He did, and even greater works, because He went to the Father, where He was seated on Father’s right hand, and raised us up to sit with Him in heavenly places.  Oh, what a great honor is ours, to be children of God, heirs of God, joint-heirs with Jesus, and if we will allow Him to grow us up in Him, to be manifest sons of God in the earth today.

So, here we are, my fellow believer.  We are living in what is surely the final stages of the church age.  We have been empowered as kings, priests, lords, ambassadors, and sons of God.  All power in heaven and earth was given to Jesus, and He, in turn, has exercised His authority and given us the power of attorney to use His Name and accomplish all His earthly works and greater.  There are multitudes in the valley of decision at this hour, desperate to hear the glorious gospel that can save their souls.  We can deliver that gospel, seeing them made alive in Christ.  There are likewise multitudes that are bound and need deliverance, healing, and provision of abundance, all so they can glorify our Father and Lord.  Thank you, my Friend, for empowering me.
