Orderly Diligence – Part 15

A foundation is built.  Now for the main edifice.

2 Peter 1:2-4 – Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

If you have followed our journey toward “divine nature” to this point, and if you believe the Word of God, there is surely rising within you an anticipation of something greater than you have ever imagined.  As we conclude this series on Orderly Diligence, I offer you one more verse of Scripture from our Manna for Today.  In 2 Peter 1:11, we read, “For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

If one follows the “line upon line” as the Lord lays it out in this 2 Peter 1 passage, the end picture for that person will be wonderfully marvelous.  Look at the words of the verse cited in the previous paragraph.  “For so…” speaks of things that have just previously been addressed.  It could be said thusly; “It is by following the previous instruction that you will receive the following.”

So, just what is it that is opened up for the person of Orderly Diligence?  Let’s look at these fabulous blessings.

an entrance . . . into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” – the “entrance” referenced here is NOT in the sweet by and by, but for right now, in this present life.  It is “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.”

…shall be ministered unto you…” – and how will it be ministered?  By the Word, by Holy Spirit, by obedience, by the angels of God (Hebrews 1:14), by faith in God.  And for ministry to flow, it must be by grace through faith.

…abundantly…” – this word in the Greek means copiouslyabundantly, and richly.  When God does something, He does it in a manner that natural thinking would call outlandishexorbitant, or beyond reason.  I know, many, if not most, Christians cannot or will not accept that statement.  But all you have to do is seriously examine one of the best-known Scriptures of all times – John 3:16.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…”  Think on that for a moment.  God’s love for every lost person, for every sinner, and at one point, that was you and me, is SO GREAT that He GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON.  Would you give your own child for me?  I rest my case.  Selah!
